Man is custody in Idaho shooting death

GARDEN CITY, Idaho (AP) _ A 27-year-old man has been taken into
custody in the shooting death of another man in Garden City.

Police say they arrested Carlos Navarrete on Tuesday and he was
being held in the Ada County Jail on a second-degree murder charge.
They described him as a transient.

In his first court appearance Wednesday, a judge set bail at $1
million.

Police say 25-year-old Irving A. Romero was killed on Monday.
The Ada County coroner says Romero had been shot once in the back
at a Garden City trailer park.

Police are still investigating the motive for the shooting.

Both Romero and Navarrete have lengthy misdemeanor criminal
records.
