REXBURG, Idaho (AP) _ A 41-year-old Rexburg man has been
sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for attempting to strangle
his teenage daughter and hitting his wife.

The Standard Journal reports that Dale Quincent Jerome Davis was
sentenced Monday, with 7th District Judge Greg Moeller saying he
would be eligible for parole after two years.

Police said Davis was intoxicated on Aug. 2 when an argument
over his daughter's boyfriend erupted. Police said that after his
wife and daughter fled their apartment, he chased them with a gun.

Davis entered a modified guilty plea to attempted strangulation
and domestic battery in October, acknowledging that there was
enough evidence to convict him without admitting guilt.
