LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) _ A bomb squad from Spokane was called to
help after a Lewiston worker found a pipe bomb by the side of a
remote road and brought it to a local store.

The Nez Perce Tribal Police told the Lewiston Tribune that an
employee with the Lewiston Orchards Irrigation District found the
pipe bomb and brought it to a smoke shop Tuesday afternoon.

Nez Perce Tribal Police Chief Leslie Hendrick says police
cleared the store, cordoned off the parking lot and warned nearby
residents to stay away until the bomb squad was able to dispose of
the device. The explosive was described as a 1-foot long metal pipe
with caps and a fuse that appeared to have been previously lit.
