House candidate Ward is late again on taxes



BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ U.S. House hopeful Vaughn Ward is delinquent
on his Valley County property taxes for a fourth time since 2004.

Ward, running against state Rep. Raul Labrador in the May 25
Republican primary, and his wife, Kirsten, were late paying their
Valley County taxes in 2004, 2006, 2007 and now 2009.

The Idaho Statesman reports they owe $434.80, including
penalties and interest, for the first half of 2009 bill that was
due last Dec. 20.

On his 2009 U.S. House financial disclosure, Ward says the
Cascade property is worth between $250,001 and $500,000.

Valley County Chief Deputy Assessor Deedee Gossi's office
assesses the property at just $96,700.

Asked about the discrepancy, she says, ``They're dreamers. I
don't know what his reasoning is.''
