Kuna man sentenced for police chase

BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ A 56-year-old Kuna man faces up to 20 years
in prison for hitting a girl and driving drunk while leading police
on a chase that ended with him ramming three police cars.

William Ruolo was sentenced last week to spend the next six
months in an Idaho Department of Corrections treatment program,
after which 4th District Judge Darla Williamson will decide if
Ruolo will be sent to prison.

Ruolo pleaded guilty in March to felony aggravated assault with
a deadly weapon and eluding police, along with misdemeanor drunken
driving and injury to a child.

Ruolo was arrested last Sept. 10 after Ada County deputies
responded to a domestic violence call. While fleeing, Ruolo's SUV
went up onto a sidewalk and hit a tree, struck an unmarked police
car and later rammed three parked patrol cars, causing about $5,500
in damage.
