Congressional Candidate And BSU Professor Arrested
Boise, Idaho (KBOI) Police say a BSU professor and candidate running for Congress threatened employees of a Boise Staples store with a gun.
58–year old Cynthia Clinkingbeard is accused of walking into the store, making threatening remarks and then pulled out a gun.
The incident happened around nine last night.
Clinkingbeard managed to get away in a car, before being pulled over by Ada County Deputies as well as Meridian and Boise Police.
Police found two other adults in the car, but they were unarmed and allegedly unaware of the situation.
Clinkingbeard was booked into the Ada County Jail on three felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Clinkingbeard is a Democratic candidate in the Idaho may primary race for the first district congressional seat.
According to the BSU website, Clinkingbeard teaches in the Biological Sciences Department.
Cynthia is also listed as a medical doctor and completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford University.
