Eagle man charged with abusing children

BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ A 55-year-old Eagle man is charged with two counts of felony injury to a child after Ada County officials say he physically, sexually and emotionally abused his children, then placed them in a mental health facility so they couldn't talk to investigators.
The Idaho Statesman reports Gregory James Vietz turned himself in at the Ada County jail on Monday and was released after posting a $50,000 bond. An arraignment is set for next Tuesday.
Deputies began investigating Vietz in late 2009. The children were declared to be in imminent danger in November 2009.
Prosecutors say the children had been subject to physical and mental abuse since October 2006.
A phone message left at a number for a Gregory J. Veitz in Boise was not immediately returned on Wednesday.
