Eastern Idaho man gets prison for beating woman
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) _ An Idaho Falls man convicted for
hitting a woman over the head with a rock this summer must serve at least two years of a 15-year prison term. Twenty-five-year-old Eric Van Shupp was sentenced in 7th District Court Thursday for his unprovoked July 4 attack on Teresa Storm. Prosecutors say they have not motive to explain Van Shupp's actions. The day of the attack, investigators say Shupp was following Storm as she was walking home. Shupp then grabbed a rock and struck her with it when she reached the residence. The Post Register reports (http://bit.ly/qRb2LW ) Shupp was also ordered to pay $1,000 fine. Shupp told the judge his victim deserves justice and he deserves to spend time in prison for his actions. He was convicted of aggravated battery. Comments ( |
