Former North Canyon Medical Center CEO Cleared
AP Wires - The former Chief Executive Officer of North Canyon Medical Center has been cleared of criminal wrongdoing.
Earl Fitzpatrick was fired on September 17 after being placed on leave back on August 18.
Lieutenant Gary Kaufman, the ISP Investigations Division Commander, said ISP got involved over a possible embezzlement by the former administrator on August 10 at the request of the Gooding City Police.
Within the investigation, it was discovered that there was a check deposited into Fitzpatrick's personal account.
The check was made out to "Partners in Healthcare inc. DBA North Canyon Medical Center, Attention: CEO" from Saint Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise for amount of $579 and some change.
Police said Fitzpatrick called it “an oversight” and an “honest mistake.”
In a statement, Fitzpatrick said he mailed in a check for the amount plus interest.
