(Hailey, ID) – Rotarun winter recreation area is responding to recent snowfall with free skiing on Saturday, January 21, dubbed Art Richards Appreciation Day at the facility.

The free-ski day will kick off the year’s ski season at Rotarun, and will also be the grand unveiling of a new handle-tow lift that provides access to the lower half of the mountain. This new lift, combined with the full-mountain pama-lift will enable skiers to delight in the fresh snow and groomed corduroy on Hailey’s own family-friendly ski area. The area will open for skiing Saturday at 10 a.m., and close at 4 p.m.

Lift tickets are $10 for kids (6-15) and includes a free hot chocolate; and $15 for adults. Kids 5 and under ski free. (Children must always be under an adult’s supervision.)

Rotarun is just three miles west of Hailey via Croy Creek Road, at 25 Rodeo Drive. Season passes are $50 for juniors, $75 for adults, and $150 for a family.

Regular hours after Saturday will be:
Sunday: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday – night skiing: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday – night skiing: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Art Richards, after whom the free-ski day is named, is one of the founders of Rotarun, and the namesake of Art Richards Mountain where Rotarun is located.
