Idaho Supreme Court rejects Idaho's redistricting plan
BOISE, IDAHO (KMVT-TV) The Idaho Supreme Court has rejected Idaho's legislative redistricting plan, siding with a group of cities and counties led by Twin Falls County who believed the plan was unconstitutional. Idaho's legislative district boundaries are redrawn once every 10 years to reflect population changes following the U.S. census. Plan L87, as it was labeled, violates the state constitution by splitting apart too many counties, the justices found. The decision was 4-1, with Justice Jim Jones dissenting. The court left it to the state's Redistricting Commission to revise the map of legislative districts. Justices specifically declined a request to draw a map themselves.
