Idaho-based Melaleuca settles lawsuit

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) _ A Utah company has agreed to pay an
Idaho health and home product company $1.2 million to settle a
lawsuit.
The Post Register reports in a story published Sunday that Max
International agreed to pay the money to its rival, Idaho
Falls-based Melaleuca.
Melaleuca sells about 350 nutritional and household products
including lotions, detergents and powdered drinks. Max
International sells similar products and uses a similar business
model.
Melaleuca sued the Salt Lake City-based Max International for
more than $10 million in the fall of 2009, contending the Utah
company raided its marketing executives and then conspired to have
those former workers breach their contracts with the company by
recruiting other sales people.
Melaleuca President McKay Christensen says he's pleased with the
settlement.
