Idaho woodcutters killed during tragic outings

Tools

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) _ A 26-year-old man was killed in a tragic
woodcutting outing with his family, the second such Idaho fatality
in two weeks as people begin to stock up on fuel for their
fireplaces.
Kyle Curry of Arbon Valley died of his injuries on Sunday at
Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center after transport in a medical
helicopter.
The Idaho State Journal (http://bit.ly/nnqo0h ) reports that the
previous weekend, 64-year-old Lon Teeter of American Falls was
killed cutting firewood at his family's cabin near Stanley.
Experts say amateur foresters filling their pickup trucks with a
few cords of wood risk a tragic mishap if they aren't careful.
Teeter was killed after a dead tree became tangled in the tree
he was actually cutting down, what experienced woodsmen call a
``widowmaker.''
