SUN VALLEY, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Joan Lamb, the only incumbent running for city council had to file as a write–in candidate.

She told us it's because one of the signatories on her application for candidacy did not update her address.

Lamb's application was rejected. Therefore, she filed as a write-in candidate.

Lamb says, "I looked at it as an opportunity to educate voters about (a) making sure your registration is up to date and (b) how to do a write–in candidate on a ballot which most of us have never done, so it's been an interesting time for most of us."

Michelle Griffith ended up winning the election with 322 votes. Lamb came in third.

The Idaho Mountain Express reports nearly 50–percent of registered Sun Valley voters casted ballots in this election.
