GARDEN CITY, Idaho (AP) _ A two-month-old kitten was beginning
to recover from a chemical and physical assault at a Garden City
veterinary hospital.
Danielle Stem of Meridian says she rescued the kitten from
teenage boys who had apparently thrown acid in the animal's face
and were throwing her around on Thursday.
Northwest Animal Companions Clinic director of operations Eileen
DeShazo says the kitten had chemical burns in her eyes, mouth and
throat. DeShazo says the kitten opened her eyes on Saturday and was
taking food from a syringe rather than a feeding tube.
The clinic donated $2,500 toward a reward fund leading to the
identification of those responsible for injuring the kitten, dubbed
Raisin.
DeShazo says Stem will be filing a police report.
