North Idaho city plans memorials for sisters killed

SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) _ A northern Idaho city has memorials
planned a week after two sisters were killed in a car crash.
Police say the crash happened last Thursday when 16-year-old
driver Sloane Weldon pulled into the path of a pickup truck hauling
a horse near Parma, killing her and two of her passengers,
17-year-old Elisabeth Cole and 16-year-old Rebecca Cole.
The Cole sisters went to Sandpoint High School and students
there, along with members of the community, have planned several
memorials this week.
The Bonner County Daily Bee reports that the services will begin
this Thursday with a release of balloons at the Sandpoint's city
beach and a service at the local Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. Students have also organized a candlelight vigil
on Friday.
