Northern Idaho woman busted, at the casino and by police

LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) _ Police say a 62-year-old northern Idaho
woman trying to cover up her gambling losses at a casino pretended
she had been carjacked and robbed, punching herself in the face to
make her story look real.
Lewiston Police Capt. Tom Greene says the woman told the truth
after she was confronted by her husband at the hospital, where she
was taken late Tuesday with facial abrasions and a bloody nose.
Greene says the woman, who police did not identify, was
confronted by her husband at the hospital and later told officers
she made up the robbery story after losing all her money at a local
casino. Police say she punched herself several times before
reporting the robbery.
The Lewiston Tribune reports the woman could face a misdemeanor
for lying to police.
