Oregon man with medical marijuana card charged with trafficking drugs in Idaho

BOISE, IDAHO (KMVT-TV) What started out as a routine traffic stop turned out to be much more Wednesday evening ending with the arrest of a Oregon Resident on drug trafficking charges. Justin Cody Brownrigg, 39 or Eugene Oregon was stopped by the Idaho State police just after 7pm near milepost 27 in Canyon County for a traffic violation. During the stop, police detected the odor of Marijuana. Browning admitted to being in possession of eight to ten grams of marijuana police say. The Oregon resident then presented officers with his Medical marijuana Card of Oregon. Police say that the vehicle was traveling through Idaho, a non-medical marijuana state and was reportedly destined for Utah, also a non-Medical marijuana state. Upon further investigation, police located the small amount of marijuana as well as a pipe in the driver’s area. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed three large duffle bags which contained several large packages of marijuana. Brownrigg was arrested for Felony Drug Trafficking and was booked in the Canyon County jail. The weight of the seized marijuana was approximately 68.8 pounds, with an estimated value of $172,000 police say.
