Rammell trial delayed pending new investigation

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) _ A judge has delayed the poaching trial
of former gubernatorial candidate Rex Rammell to investigate if
Rammell broke another law by handing out leaflets to potential
jurors in the case.
Rammell was scheduled to go on trial this week for illegally
killing a cow elk in eastern Idaho last November.
The Post Register reports Rammell is now being investigated for
passing out fliers entitled ``The Jury's Secret Power'' to
potential jurors outside the Bonneville County Courthouse Thursday.
Idaho code makes it a felony for anyone who corruptly attempts
to influence a juror.
Rammell calls the flier harmless and says he just wanted to
inform jurors about their rights. The first sentence of the flier
states jurors have a right to vote their conscience and to judge
the law applied in the case.
