Spectator injured at SW Idaho demolition derby
HOMEDALE, Idaho (AP) _ A woman suffered a broken rib after a car
crashed into fence at a demolition derby in southwestern Idaho. Organizers say the woman was among spectators at the derby Monday in Homedale when a car spun out of control and crashed into a log barrier. The car was then rammed by another vehicle and collided into a fence in front of the audience, knocking a loudspeaker pole into the crowd. Paramedics responded to a woman who suffered a broken rib and neck pain. Mike Conant is a member of the Lion's Club that hosted the derby and says he spoke Wednesday with the woman. Conant told the Idaho Press-Tribune she treated by paramedics, but not admitted to the hospital. Conant says the accident at the charity event a ``freak thing.'' Comments ( |
