BOISE, Idaho (KMVT-TV) "We have a wonderful group of state employees, they're dedicated and they're hard working and they're working extra hours for many years now without these extra benefits. So it's time to reward them if we can," says Rep. Stephen Hartgen, District 23.

It's been several years since state employees have received a raise, but good news might be on the horizon.

The Finance Committee is considering giving the employees a two–percent raise.

Representative Hartgen says it's unknown whether or not the employees will receive the full two percent right away.

The topic of potential pay raises came up after the committee looked at the budget numbers last week.
