Twin Falls, Idaho - Lillian McCord Ling, 70, passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.
Lillian was born June 28, 1942, in Burley, Idaho, to Fred Austin McCord and Alice Allen McCord. She was a middle child with an older sister, Aileen, and a younger brother, Darold. She grew up on a farm near Emerson and graduated from Minico High School in 1960. She then graduated from Twin Falls Business College in 1961. On Nov. 9, 1963, she married Kenneth F. Ling. They had two children, Bradley Frank (1966) and Nancy Sue (1969).
In 1978, Lillian went to work for the Twin Falls County DMV, from which she retired in 2008 after 30 years of service. Lillian loved to read and was a wonderful cook. She loved camping and the outdoors. After their retirement, Lillian and Ken took several wonderful trips together. She was devoted to her family and took great pride in her five grandsons.
Lillian is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ken Ling; son, Brad (Loma) Ling of South Jordan, Utah; daughter, Nancy (Doug) Albrethsen of Twin Falls, Idaho; and grandchildren, Jared, Jayden, Grayson, Parker and Rhyn Ling. She is also survived by her sister, Aileen DeVisser of Filer, Idaho; and her brother, Darold McCord of Boise, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Caswell LDS Chapel, with Bishop Greg Stanger officiating. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at White Mortuary “Chapel by the Park” and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
