Hagerman, Idaho - Douglas D. Wilson, 73, of Hagerman, Idaho, returned home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, after a courageous battle with multiple health complications. He passed peacefully with family and friends present.
He was born May 1, 1939, in Bellevue, Idaho, to James and Irene Wilson. He was raised and lived in the Wood River Valley area until joining the Navy. The Navy was his first love, which he joined at the age of 17. He served honorably in the Navy for 20 years, returning to the Magic Valley area after retiring from the service. On assignment in the Philippines, he met the love of his life, Natividad. They were married in the Philippines and returned to the states a year later. They were married for 40 years, living primarily in Jerome and Hagerman. After the military, Doug loved to tinker on small engines and fix things around the house.
We would like to thank everyone who helped care for our father, especially the VA.
Doug is survived by his wife, Natividad Wilson; one brother, Charles “Chuck” Wilson; a sister, Patti Goodman; his children; Bobbie Roberts-Wilson (Jennifer), Lisa Blake (Ryan) and Nestor Hapayan (Bobbi); six grandchildren, Trey Boyd, Jordan, Michael and Alyssa Roberts, and Jaylen and Taylor Hapayan; along with many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Lloyd and Jimmy; and sister, Donna Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S. Lincoln in Jerome. A celebration on his life will be held the following weekend, Saturday, Oct. 13, at the American Legion Hall in Wendell, Idaho, beginning at 1 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
