Jerome, Idaho - Marge Haynes passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls.
Margaret Wave Cheek was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Stockton, Mo., to Coy Emmett Cheek and Mary Marine Sheek Cheek and was sister to three brothers. She graduated from Exeter High School in Exeter, Calif., in 1945. On Jan. 18, 1947, she married Marvin Myril Haynes at the Wee Kirk O’ The Heather Chapel in Las Vegas, Nev. They moved to Jerome, where they’ve resided for the past 60 years.
Marvin was joined in business by his brother, Earl, forming Haynes Bros. Painting, where Marge handled the business bookkeeping. Marge and Marvin had two children, Mike and Beth. Her concentration in her life was on her husband, home and family. She was a marvelous cook, made all birthdays and holidays special and kept the home fires burning. She truly was the heart of the home where everyone was always welcome. This past January, she and Marvin celebrated 65 years of marriage.
