Twin Falls, Idaho - Roland Lee Clindist, 79, of Twin Falls, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at River Ridge Care Center of Twin Falls.
He was born March 14, 1933, in Baltimore, Md., to John and Thelma Giddings Clindist. Roland grew up in Baltimore and, in 1952, entered the Army, beginning a 22-year career which took him through the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam Conflict and other duty stations. He retired in 1975 as a staff sergeant and non-commissioned officer.
It was while in the Army that Roland met Lavonne Clay, and the couple married Feb. 14, 1966, in San Antonio, Texas. Following duty in Germany and upon his retirement, Roland settled in Twin Falls. He worked in security for several businesses. Roland was actively involved in photography and computers.
He is survived by his wife, Lavonne of Twin Falls; his daughter, Anna Rich of Castleford, Idaho; his grandchildren, Dondo Morton of Buhl, and Brandon Adams, Jonathan Rich and Michael Rich, all of Castleford; his great-grandchildren, Ayla Morton and Chadwick Morton, both of Twin Falls; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Paul Eugene Rich II; a great-nephew; and several sisters and brothers-in-law.
Roland’s life will be celebrated in a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. E. in Twin Falls, with Pastor Roger Sedlmayr officiating. Services are under the direction of Dustin Godfrey and staff of Reynolds Funeral Chapel. Friends and family may leave message of support at www.reynoldschapel.com.

I would like to say good-bye to my father, after all these years of not knowing him,and to let the world know that this man,was a man who left his first family for another family.i wish that i could have meet him and talk to him, i will miss him.
