Buhl, Idaho - Loraine Elizabeth Edmons, 71, of Buhl, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls surrounded by family and friends.
Loraine was born June 4, 1941, in Huntsville, Ark., to Clarence and Clitie Byrd. When Loraine was very young, her mother married Donis Holman and the family moved to Filer, Idaho. She went to school in Filer and eventually received her GED from the College of Southern Idaho.
In 1958, she married Thomas Edmons and moved to Buhl. Together they had four children. Loraine worked for Green Giant and Seneca for 25 years as a lot checker. She was well known for catering weddings. She made extraordinary wedding cakes, dresses and tuxes and would plan and coordinate the events. She was a very active member of the Buhl Church of Christ. Loraine was always taking care of friends, neighbors and relatives and always willing to help any one in need. She was an excellent mother and grandmother and loved her family very much. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Loraine was preceded in death by her mother, Clitie Holman; stepfather, Donis Holman; father, Clarence Byrd; infant son, Scott Edmons; and brother, Lee Byrd. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Edmons of Buhl; sons, Jay (Tammy) Edmons of Buhl, Dale (Cathy) Edmons of Aberdeen, Wash.; daughter, Kay (Ray) Massey of Twin Falls; sister, Dovie Darchuk of Moses Lake, Wash.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the Church of Christ in Buhl. Interment will follow the service at the West End Cemetery in Buhl. Arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl.
