Jerome, Idaho - Jerry Diehl, 85, of Idaho Falls and formerly of Jerome, passed away Tuesday November 6, 2012 in Idaho Falls. He was born March 2, 1927, in Jerome, Idaho the son of William T. and Beulah Haines Diehl. He attended Jerome schools and graduated in 1945. Jerry served his country in the Navy during World War II, then attended the University of Idaho and graduated in 1950. He married Rosamary Wilson on November 15, 1951. They farmed, dairied, and were in the school business until 1990 in Jerome. Jerry is survived by his wife, Rosamary of Idaho Falls; their children, Mike (Cyndi) Diehl of Eagle, Idaho; Brad (Heidi) Diehl of Twin Falls, Idaho; and Kari (Mark) Frisbey of Idaho Falls, Idaho; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his brother Ted (Bev) Diehl of Jerome and many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Curt, one brother, Lester and one sister, Dorothy.
An Open House "Celebration of Life" will be held for Jerry on Friday November 9, 2012, at the Jerome High School Jerry Diehl Auditorium, 26 North Tiger Drive, Jerome, where family and friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Come and share your memories of Jerry. Remember how he loved to joke and play pranks on people. Remember that wonderful laugh! In lieu of flowers, Jerry's family suggests that memorials be made in his name to: Alzheimer's Association, 6126 W. State St., Suite 305, Boise, ID 83703, or Hands of Hope Hospice, 1379 E 17th St., Idaho Falls, ID 83404. A private interment with military honors will take place in the Jerome Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.

I am sad to hear about Jerry. He was a great mentor and later, friend. He was a dynamic High School principal and he was one of the reasons I went into education.

I CAN REMEMBER JERRY AS THE PRINCIPLE OF THE JEROME GREEN HIGH SCHOOL,JERRY WAS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP AND SUGGEST BETTER WAYS TO HANDLE THE TRAMA OF GOING TO HIGH SCHOOL,JERRY REALLY HELPED ME OUT IN HIGH SCHOOL,HE WILL BE DEFINTLEY MISSED.CAROL
