Twin Falls, Idaho - Carolina Villegas Arambula. beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away suddenly Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, following a brief hospitalization.
Carolina was born Jan. 26, 1921, in Laredo, Texas, the daughter of Antonio Villegas and Norberta Moreno Villegas. She was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters. She married Aurelio Arambula Sr. on April 24, 1942. Carolina and Aurelio Sr. established permanent residence in the Magic Valley in 1960 following several years of traveling for seasonal work. They were blessed with a large family of 11 children, Aurelio Jr, Arambula, Juanita (Dionicio, deceased) Benavides, America (Bill) Brodeen, Blanca (Humberto) Fuentes, Esmeralda Arambula, Roy Arambula, Roel Arambula and Armando (“Kito”) Arambula.
In addition to her children, Carolina is survived by 20 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, eight step great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and four step great-great-grandchildren.
Following Aurelio Sr.’s untimely death, Carolina cared for her children as a single parent, holding fast to her loved ones and ensuring that, despite all odds, she persevered and provided for her family. Her devotion to others and enduring example of strength are traits found in each of her children and grandchildren and will be part of future generations to come.
Carolina was preceded in death by her husband, Aurelio Sr. (1966); sons, Armando (infant); Leo (1990); and Erasmo (2011).

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road in Twin Falls. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road in Twin Falls. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Twin Falls. Private Interment will follow at a later date at the Twin Falls Cemetery.
