Twin Falls, Idaho - Ruth Marie Guthrie Campbell Frehner, 83, of Twin Falls, fell asleep in death Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Curry Retirement Estates in Twin Falls.
Ruth was born to Francis Marion Guthrie and Hazel Margaret Spaulding Guthrie May 10, 1929 in Billings, Montana. She married Kelley Lee Campbell on June 3, 1944. They had five children and were later divorced. She married Stanley Frehner on December 5, 1973 and he remained by her side to the end.
Ruth was a simple woman, never asking for much. She had a love for horses and that love spilled over into her hand drawings and paintings. She was a talented mother, who in hard times would take a large coat and make it into three or four jackets for her children. She always handmade most of her children’s clothes when they were young. With little or no resources she could bake homemade bread and cookies that filled the house with a fragrance almost lost to us in today’s world.
After her divorce from Kelley, she went to school to be a nursing aide. Ruth worked in this trade until it took its toll on her back and spine. After her marriage to Stan, Ruth became a caregiver. She took in her mother in her last days and then a sister from the congregation later on. She was her husband Stan’s right hand during their marriage. She was a Jehovah’s Witness for 73 years. She loved her spiritual friends and her God.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 2628 Whispering Pine, Twin Falls, Idaho.
Cremation is under the direction of Serenity Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
