Edwin John Becker, Sr.
Edwin was born on July 13, 1936 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of John “Jack” and Marceline Becker. He was raised and educated in Gooding.
Edwin served in the Army National Guard in the Armored Cavalry as a Sergeant. He then served in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman Second Class.
He married E. Ann Wilkins on November 23, 1960 in Gooding.
Edwin worked as a slot machine mechanic in Jackpot in 1966 and later in Lake Tahoe in 1969. He retired in 1989 and they moved back to Gooding.
Ed was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Gooding.
He is survived by: his wife, Ann Becker of Gooding; son, Edwin (Mary) Becker, Jr. Of Fairfield, daughter, Jaylene (Beman) Perkins of Gooding, son, Alan Becker of Phoenix, Arizona, daughter, Marceline Becker of Gooding, daughter, Shenae Liggett of Gardnerville, Nevada, and daughter, Regina (Brian) Davis of Gooding; his grandchildren, Shenie (Luis) Bento, Daniel (Kristain) Smith, Randon Becker, Kelly (Brandon) Rider, Katty Davis, Britteny Tipton, Nicole Armstrong, Tara Neilson, William Liggett, Robbie Liggett and Connor Neilson; and great grandchildren, Matthew Bento, Abigail Smith, Casey Jamie Knight, John Edwin Bento, Ejay Smith, Brody Walker, Dawson Rider and Alexandria Smith; his siblings, sister, Louise Ervin, brother, Conrad Becker, brother, Raymond Becker, brother, John Becker, sister, Marcella Martinchick, sister, Viola Becker, brother, James Becker, sister, Margene Willis, brother Kenneth Becker, brother, Michael Becker, sister, Loretta Kremer, brother, Patrick Becker and brother, Nicholas Becker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marceline Becker; and a grandson, Edwin “E.J.” Becker III.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Demaray Funeral Service - Gooding Chapel. Recitation of the Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Gooding.
Interment with military honors will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Gooding.
