Shoshone, Idaho - Rae Lucille Bozzuto, 88, a resident of Shoshone, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at her home in Shoshone.
Rae was born on October 13, 1924, in Jerome, Idaho to Hannah Elvira Jones Anderson and Andrew Moroni Anderson. She was raised and educated in Shoshone and graduated from Shoshone High School in 1942.
After high school she worked in Clearfield, Utah at a Navy supply depot. Near the end of WWII in 1944, she came back to Shoshone. It was there that she met Vic Bozzuto while working at the local dry cleaning shop. After a whirlwind romance, they were married on Christmas Day in 1944, and returned to Connecticut where she worked in a Civil Defense plant while Vic fulfilled his Naval duties.
After the war ended they settled in Connecticut where Bill, Bob, and Vicky were born. Five years later they moved to Idaho where Tony was born.
She assisted Vic in starting and running Bozzuto Furniture in 1961 which is still being operated today by their son, Tony.
Vic and Rae had 65 loving years together before Vic passed away in 2010.
Rae’s joy was her family; she loved gardening and cooking for them.
Rae is survived by 4 children; Bill (Renee) Bozzuto, of Hailey, Idaho; Bob (Linda) Bozzuto, of Reno, Nevada; Vicky (Mike) Hranac, of Boise, Idaho; and Tony Bozzuto, of Shoshone, Idaho; 6 grandchildren; Krisie; Robbie; Jason (Kelly); Kellie (Ryan); Dani; and Shelby; 5 great-grandchildren; Jaysa; Kenley; Ethan; Dillan; and Braedan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Friday January 4, 2013 at Demaray Funeral Service – Shoshone Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Demaray Funeral Service – Shoshone Chapel. A private interment will follow at the Shoshone Cemetery in Shoshone.
The family requests memorial donations in Rae’s name be made to the Shoshone Education Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 539 Shoshone, Idaho 83352.
