Hailey, Idaho - Gabrielle (Gabbe) Christine Sanborn died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013.She was born to Kimberly Janine Otey Macdonald and Kevin Grant Sanborn on April 13, 1992, in Twin Falls, Idaho. She graduated from Wood River High School in 2010.
Gabbe was blessed with awesome artistic and musical talent, able to play five instruments and was adept in many forms of painting, drawing and tattoo arts. At a younger age, she competed in cow cutting on her favorite horse, Dual, in many competitions, including the nationals with her grandmother, Gina Macdonald. She had a fondness for the quirky and vintage, put together the most amazing outfits and could create clothing and room decor that were simply wonderful to behold. She always had her own style. She also loved photography and quickly picked up the skills for that craft. Whenever possible, Gabbe enjoyed the outdoors in the beautiful Sun Valley area and especially enjoyed camping there with friends.
She had a beautiful and generous spirit. There were few people she came in contact with who did not recognize the wonderful person she was and the incredible talents she had; unfortunately, she was not able to see that in herself. We all loved you so much, Gabbe.
Gabbe is survived by her parents, Kimberly and Felan Macdonald; father, Kevin Sanborn; sisters, Adrielle Macdonald, McKayla Luper, Jerrika Phelps and Kaitlyn Sanborn; brothers, Connor McMahan and Thane Sanborn; great-grandmother, Laura Scheuring; grandparents, Alex and Gina Macdonald, Robert Otey, Jean and Lewis Sanborn, Candy McElfresh, and Christine and Ed Kapfer; aunts, uncles and cousins from the families of Howard and Kelly Swede, Luke and Jamie Macdonald, Alex and Jessica Macdonald, Shawn and Freddy Silva, and the Scheuring family.
We all will miss you and love you Gabbe — forever and a day.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Wood River Chapel in Hailey. Friends are invited to visit to leave a condolence, share a story or photo and light a candle.
