Micheal W. Bourn
Mike was born Aug. 25, 1947, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to James and Delpha Bourn of Murtaugh. He graduated from Murtaugh High School in 1966 and went on to graduate from College of Southern Idaho with a welding degree and eventually a business management degree. Since graduating from high school until his retirement, Mike worked in the farming/ranching industry. Never owning a farm, he was always the trusted truck driver or the ranch hand. In his younger years, he was a bull rider in the Magic Valley rodeos, having told many stories of his wild, younger days.
Mike was an avid hunting and fishing enthusiast. He spent his entire life hunting, fishing and enjoying his time outdoors. This was so much his passion that he was a hunter’s education instructor in the Murtaugh area for more than four years. His greatest joy in life was passing on his hunting and fishing experience to his kids. For the last six years, Mike was enjoying his retirement. Spending the majority of his time as the house husband, Mike found passion tending to the garden and yard where he allowed no weed to grow. He was also finding joy in becoming a grandpa, having three beautiful grandchildren to enjoy.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Bourn of Murtaugh; his children, Paul (Kris) Cox of Boise, Branden (Dale) Maxwell of Ansbach, Germany, Jonathon (Danielle) Bourn of Eden and Michelle Quesnell of Twin Falls; his grandchildren, Zane Bourn, Zandie Bourn and Madisen Maxwell; his sisters, Cindy Mack of Hailey and Sheryl Brodoski of Boise; and his brother, Charles (Lucky) Bourn of Rupert. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Delpha Bourn; and his son, Jamie Quesnell.
The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the Murtaugh LDS Church on Highway 30 in Murtaugh, with Bishop Levi Perkins officiating. Friends may call from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls.
