Twin Falls, Idaho - Debra Jean Shaw Buttars, 58, died on January 11, 2013 at her home in Twin Falls after a long and heroic battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Her almost four year fight with NHL included two bone marrow transplants, many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, and countless prayers and acts of kindness by friends, family, nurses, and doctors. Through it all, her hope and her faith and testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ never waivered. She is finally free.
Debra was born in Logan, Utah on June 1, 1954. She was the fifth child of Bill and Ann Shaw. She attended schools in Logan, graduating from Logan High School in 1972. She was a Sterling Scholar in Business, attended Utah State University, and went on to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at the University of Utah. She worked as an RN at Logan Regional Hospital and at Magic Valley Regional Hospital. She felt fortunate to call "motherhood" her greatest job.
Debra met her future spouse, Cleve, at Logan High School and they were married in the Logan LDS Temple on August 25, 1976. They have four wonderful children, Julie, Ryan, Carrie, and Tracie. In 1990, the family moved to Twin Falls, ID, where they started Agri-Service, a successful farm equipment dealership with nine stores in Idaho, Utah, and Oregon. Debra loved going on many fun business trips to beautiful locations around the world.
Debra served in many positions with her membership in the LDS church, including serving as Relief Society President of the Twin Falls 15th Ward. She loved teaching children and youth in the Primary and Young Women's program. Deb loved reading the classics and many other books and could be counted on to give a very entertaining and concise verbal review on a prolific number of books. She did crossword puzzles rapidly and perfectly... with a pen, and was a great homemaker and cook. As an excellent "calendarist" she loved organizing school schedules, shopping lists, and home finances. She never had to look up a birthday, and loved doing handwork and going to movies. Deb will be missed by her family and friends.
Debra is survived by her husband, R. Cleve Buttars of Twin Falls, her children: Julie Ann (Clint) Schnoor, Twin Falls; Ryan Cleve (Chelsea) Buttars, Twin Falls; Carrie Jean (Jason) Lloyd, West Lafayette IN; and Tracie Lyn (Jonathan) Lindsey, Millbrae, CA. She leaves nine beautiful grandchildren, Jack, Ellie, Lucy, Audrey, and William Beck Schnoor; Maxon, Evelyn, and Jude Lloyd; and Scarlett Lindsey. She is also survived by her mother Ann Alene Shaw, Sandy UT; sisters Deann (Lee) Broadbent, North Logan UT; Dixie (Steve) Van Winkle, Sandy UT; brothers David (Annette) Shaw, Sandy UT; Duane (Marcie) Shaw, Sandy UT; and Daren (Louise) Shaw, North Salt Lake City UT. She was preceded in death by her father, William Dean Shaw.

Funeral services for Debra will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Twin Falls LDS Stake Center, 2085 South Temple Drive, Twin Falls with Bishop Mike Traveller conducting. Graveside service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon at the Logan City Cemetery in Logan, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. East, Twin Falls as well as on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 am at the LDS Church.
Services are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be given in Debra’s name to the Debra Buttars Nursing Scholarship Fund c/o C.S.I. Foundation. Contributions may be given to funeral chapel staff or mailed to C.S.I Foundation, P.O. Box 1238, Twin Falls, ID 83303.

So Sorry for your loss Cleve. Your emptiness will make it a hard year but you will find her in the face of your children, in someone's laugh or smile. In meals cooked and service rendered but mostly in your heart and your memories. God bless.
