Shoshone, Idaho - Elva Lavonne Boatwright, 72, a resident of Shoshone, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at her home in Shoshone.
Elva was born on February 11, 1940, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Leonard Lawrence, and Nellie May Ruggles Owens. She married Buddy Blake Boatwright on March 3, 1960 in Raton, New Mexico.
Upon moving to Idaho, Elva worked at the Shoshone Library in Shoshone. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Gooding, and was very active in her church community, including Sunday School.
Elva is survived by 1 son, David Blake Boatwright, of North Highlands, California; 2 daughters, Loretta Jean Bonner, and Lonne Lavonne Searle, both of Shoshone, Idaho; 4 sisters, Edna Irene Farmer, of Ellicott, Colorado; Hazel May Brooke, of Creede, Colorado; Donna Joyce King, of Arkansas; and Roberta Kay Hogan, of Silt, Colorado. Elva is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Tamara Gabbard; Charlotte Evans; Kirk Davis, Jr.; Louis Davis; Selena, Seth, and Sadrac Boatwright.
Elva was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Buddy.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am to 10:30 am, Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Gooding. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 am at the Church. A private committal will follow at the Shoshone Cemetery in Shoshone.
The family requests donations be made in Elva’s name to the First Christian Church in Gooding.
