Twin Falls, Idaho - Emma Jean Smith Lakey, 86, of Twin Falls passed away early Monday morning, January 21, 2013 at her home in Twin Falls.
Emma Jean was born on March 16, 1926 in Logan, Utah the daughter of Edwin and Winifred Smith. She married Marlin Lakey on November 19, 1943 in the Logan L.D.S. Temple. They lived in Soda Springs for many years before moving to Enterprise, Oregon where they operated an International Harvester Dealership. They moved to Twin Falls, Idaho and operated the Travel Lodge motel for many years. They retired and enjoyed spending time together on many trips.
Emma Jean is survived by her husband of 69 years, Marlin Lakey of Twin Falls; her five children, Connie Willett of Blaine, Washington; Caren Mitchoff of Redmond, Oregon; LaRee Holscher of Redmond, Oregon; Steve Lakey of Hazelton, Idaho; and Marty Lakey of Ketchum, Idaho. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service for Emma Jean will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. East, Twin Falls. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services at Reynolds Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Soda Springs Cemetery in Soda Springs, Idaho.
Services are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
