Twin Falls, Idaho - Matthew C. Askew, 34, left the trials of this earth to receive eternal love and peace from his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.
After suffering with bi-polar disease he is finally free. He was the first-born son to Arlen and Carla Askew. They considered it an honor to have been able to raise such an amazing young man. He lived his early life in Kimberly, Idaho, with his two brothers, Michael and Mark — the three musketeers, all for one and one for all. Then a move took him and his family to Heyburn, Idaho, where he became a big brother to a sister, Nicole Askew. He graduated from Minico High School. He worked at Simplot in Burley and then moved to Boise, where he held several jobs. His work ethic was second to none. He had a passion for his family, learning scripture, his angel Maddie, and his dog Carlos. He was a body builder and won many titles. His life touched so many others, and he will be missed by many.
He is survived by his parents, Arlen and Carla Askew of Hansen; brothers, Mark and Michael Askew; sister, Nicole Askew; daughter, Maddie and her family; special friend, his dog Carlos; grandparents, Donna Holmes of Twin Falls, and Merlin and Julene of Wendell; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was met in heaven by his grandfather, Carl Holmes; a baby sibling; a cousin; and many family and friends.
Thank you to all that showed their kindness at this time. Special thanks to Kevin Rosenau and Rick Muse from the Twin Falls Cemetery.
To our precious son: We will miss you forever but we know we will see you again; love Mom and Dad.
There has been an account set up to help with the funeral costs requested by family and friends at any First Federal Bank to the Arlen Askew account.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Rosenau Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Twin Falls Cemetery.
