Jerome, Idaho - Delores Mae Everson, 79, of Jerome, passed away Sunday January 27, 2013 in Jerome. She was born April 27, 1933 in Loup City, Nebraska, to Lloyd and Dorothy Rae Oltman Burkey. Delores lived in Loup City until her high school years when her family moved to Idaho Falls. She graduated from Shelley High School, where she met her future husband, Richard Neils Everson. They were married July 11, 1952 in Shelley, Idaho. Delores gave up her life-long dream of becoming a nurse to be a wife and mother. She worked to put her husband through college, first, at University of Idaho, in Moscow, and then at Idaho State University in Pocatello. After Rich graduated, they moved to Vernal, Utah for about 18 months and then settled in Jerome in 1958 where they have made their home for the past 54 years.
Delores is survived by her husband, Richard; one daughter, Chrisie Rae (Laird) Jenkins, of North Las Vegas, Nevada; five sons, Richard L. (Rose Ann), of Jerome, James J. (Nancy), of Pocatello, Robert R. (Larae), of North Salt Lake, Utah, David N. (Wendy), of New Plymouth, and Jon C., of Pocatello. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margie Soucie, of Idaho Falls and Donna Johnson, of Salt Lake City; and many extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Greg Johnson, and a niece, Cindy Moon.
A visitation will be held Thursday evening, January 31, 2013, at the Jerome LDS 4th Ward Chapel, 26 North Tiger Dr., Jerome, where family and friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday February 1, 2013, also at the Jerome LDS 4th Ward Chapel, with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow in the Jerome Cemetery. Delores' family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in her name to: Rosetta Assisted Living Center, 1177 East Ridge Court, Twin Falls, ID 83301, or Humanitarian Services of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1665 Bennett Road, Salt Lake City, UT 84104. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.

Just want you to know I just learned of Delores passing. She has always been very special to us. We appreciated the support that she and President Everson gave us and my folks Floyd and Thelma Marsh. She was very special.

I was saddened to see Delores had passed. All my life I have remembered what a beautiful person she is. May you all have peace in your hearts , until you meet again.
