Steve was an avid golfer with a natural swing and talent evident in his son, Brenner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spent time outdoors with family and friends. As a youth, Steve was described as graceful on the hill. He taught his children to ski and enjoyed many ski trips with them.

Steve graduated from Minico High School in 1975, and was a member of the Minico High School Golf Team. He met the love of his life, Sheila Jensen, and they married in 1985. After farming for 20 years, he became the assistant superintendent at The Rupert Country Club and maintained the golf course to perfection, known for his passion and dedication, never having missed a day. His many friends supported him throughout his life – especially when he was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) in 2011.

The family expresses gratitude again to this great community. A special thanks to Minidoka Home Health and Hospice and MIA-POW for their constant loving support.

Along with his beautiful smile, Steve will be remembered for his quick witted sense of humor, his deep infectious belly laugh, and his genuine honesty which gained the respect of all who knew him.
