Twin Falls, Idaho - John Henry Nelson, 83, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away Saturday evening, March 23, 2013, at Bridgeview Estates.
John was born Oct. 24, 1929, to Helen C. (Stiles) and Henry Andrew Nelson in Onamia, Minn., where he was raised and educated. In 1950, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His tours of duty took him to Texas, Florida, Germany, England, California, France, Korea and Idaho. While stationed in Twin Falls, he was an adviser to the Civil Air Patrol. It was while he was in England that he met his future wife, Rosemary Wilson. They were married on June 12, 1954.
John is survived by his wife, Rosemary; daughter, Sue Loosli and her husband, Duane Loosli; grandsons, Brian Loosli (Amanda), Kevin Loosli (Tiffany) and Brent Loosli (Marissa); and his brother, Elmer R. Nelson of Lebanon, Mo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Nelson; and his son, Gary Lee Nelson.
In 1977, John retired from the Air Force. He and his wife went back to Missouri to care for his parents. In 1983, John and Rosemary returned to Twin Falls to be near their daughter and grandsons. They took a number of trips back to England to visit family and friends. They enjoyed many trips to San Diego to visit their son until his death. John and Rosemary were members of the Twin Falls Bluebirds Good Sam Club and enjoyed many trips and good fellowship. After retirement, John couldn’t sit still and not do anything, so he worked for World Book Encyclopedias as a district manager for about eight years. After that he worked for Blacker’s Appliance for approximately another eight years. John was a wonderful caring husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E. in Twin Falls, Pastor Dave Mowry officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.

John was so nice to me. He tried to get me to sell World Book Encyclopedias. I only sold one set. I found out that sales were not my area. I am happy that John in now in Heaven with our Lord Jesus.
