Burley, Idaho – Lorna Beth Draper Jones Hitt Brower, age 86, of Burley, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at her home.

Lorna was born on Jan. 24, 1927, in Burley, Idaho, the daughter of Kenneth Dee Draper and Alice Elizabeth (Anderson) Prestridge. She received and completed her education in Burley. Lorna married Junior Arthur Jones on March 25, 1944, in Burley. Together, they had three sons. He passed away on Sept. 27, 1956. Lorna then married William Windel Hitt on Jan. 21, 1957, in Elko, Nevada, and they had one son and two daughters. They later divorced. She then married Theodore “Ted” Lamont Brower on Nov. 20, 1965, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had no children together, but Lorna gained four stepsons and two stepdaughters.

She was a member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed driving around the country, gardening, walking, and spending time with her family. She worked many places, the longest being the J.R. Simplot Company in Heyburn retiring in 1996 after 35 years of service.

Lorna is survived by her four sons, Gary (Roberta) Jones of Rupert, Dean (Michelle) Jones of Burley, Randy Jones of Rupert, and Bill Hitt-Brower of Heyburn; two daughters, Debbie Hitt (Tom) Mong of Paul, and Sharon Hitt (Scott) Mecham of Heyburn; four stepsons, Terry (Kathy) Brower, Randy (MaryPat) Brower, Steven (Valerie) Brower, and Mike Brower; two stepdaughters, Janet Brower, and Rosie Brower; three sisters, Joyce Jensen, Darlene Cambra, and LaRetta Henson; two brothers, Marvin (Korla) Prestridge, and LeRoy Draper; 26 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Brower; her father, Kenneth Draper; her mother, Alice Elizabeth Prestridge; her stepfather, John Prestridge; and a brother, Virgil Draper.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and where friends and family may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, May 5, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
