Filer, Idaho - LaRee Michelle Karel, 34, of Filer, Idaho passed away at her home on Thursday evening, May 2, 2013 after a long illness of A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
LaRee was born March 20, 1979 in Boise, Idaho. As a child she grew up and attended schools in Kodiak, Alaska and in Poulsbo, Washington; graduating from Poulsbo High School in 1997. LaRee married Cody Karel on November 8, 2003 in Poulsbo, Washington.
LaRee enjoyed singing, playing piano, drawing, horseback riding, camping, hiking, and homemaking. Her love was being a wonderful wife and mother to Cody and their three children, Anthony, Grant and Claire. She will be missed and remembered by family and friends for her kindness, caring and sense of humor.
LaRee is survived by her husband, Cody and their three children, Anthony age 9, Grant age 7 and Claire age 5 all of Filer; her parents, Kirk and Suzette Payne of Poulsbo, Washington; her sister, Kariann Del Valle and her two brothers, Travis Payne and Preston Payne. Funeral services for LaRee will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Filer LDS Stake Center, 841 Midway in Filer, Idaho with Bishop Bryce Bowman conducting. Burial will follow at the Filer Cemetery. A time of fellowship and support will take place from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Services are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff at White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park, Twin Falls.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be given to the LaRee Karel Memorial fund set up for her children at the US Bank. Contributions may be given to funeral staff or dropped off at any US Bank.
