William Duke Morton

of Gooding, Idaho

Died: June 18, 2013 in Gooding, Idaho

Gooding, Idaho - Duke Morton led a rich, spiritual life. Diagnosed with polio as a young child, Duke was told he would never walk, and would not live past the age of 30. Duke was known for his positive, can-do outlook on life, one that allowed him to overcome numerous medical and professional obstacles.

Duke had a penchant for living life to the fullest. He was an avid motorcycle racer and world traveler who married the love of his life, Donna Reynolds, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Duke was a loving father to five and grandfather to seven.

Duke saw the good in all people and never hesitated to help a person in need. For all those who knew Duke and were touched by his caring, his family asks that you pass that good will on to others.

Duke took civic duty to the highest level as the popular mayor of Gooding, Idaho. Duke was dedicated in his service to the community and worked diligently toward passing Gooding’s water initiative, one of the projects he felt most passionate about.

Duke’s family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations may be made in his name to: The Rotary Foundation – Polio Research; and may be left at or mailed to: Demaray Funeral Service Att: Randy 737 Main Street Gooding, Idaho 83330.
