Gooding, Idaho - Richard “Dick” Geer, 79, of Gooding, Idaho and formerly of Bliss, Idaho passed away Sunday July 14, 2013 at Bridgeview Care Center in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Dick was born May 21, 1934 to Ralph and Della Geer in New London, Ohio. His family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho in 1934 when dick was an infant. He attended school in the Twin Falls school district and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1952. Dick enjoyed activities such as High School Rodeo and playing guitar and even made a record at one point. Dick then worked at the UC Ranch where he worked cattle and performed various tasks that a ranch hand would be expected to do. He attended college for a short time at Idaho State University and started driving truck for Wagner Transportation in the mid 50’s.

On July 3, 1956, Dick married the love of his life, Barbara “Bobbie” Exon. The couple resided in Twin Falls, Idaho until 1966 and then moved to Bliss, Idaho to manage the Y-inn Motel. Throughout the late 60’s and into the 70’s, Dick managed the Y-Inn Motel, Café and Service Station in Bliss. In 1974 he started “Dick Geer Fencing” and created many corrals, fences and gates that still stand in many parts of the Bliss, Hagerman and Fairfield areas today. In 1978 Dick went back to driving truck for Wagner Transportation and continued until retirement.

Richard “Dick” Geer is survived by his three children Ron (Luann) Geer of Gooding, Idaho, Ralph (Sherry) Geer of Gooding, Idaho, and Kim (Nathan) Bishop of Twin Falls, Idaho; One sister, Ada “June” Droubay; Six Grandchildren, Chad Geer, Carrie Kimball, Barbara Rivers, Richard Geer, Brianna Bishop and Trae Bishop, Landon (Laura) Scheer, Brea (Dan) Duffy, Elisha (Trenton) Horrocks; and sixteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life Barbara “Bobbie” Geer and one very special friend Deanna Reddick of Hagerman, Idaho.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel. Burial will follow at the Hagerman Cemetery in Hagerman.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.

Sorry to hear of your fathers passing. I always looked forward to working with Dick when I was driving for Wagner. Your dad was a good man. You all will be in thoughts and prayers............Don Canine
