Maria was born October 20 1907 in Cocula Jalisco Mexico, daughter of Pablo Sevilla and Leonides Mederos. She came to the United States and lived in Crystal City, Texas, where she later met George Galvan. They were married in Carriso Springs, TX on July 5 1933. They settled in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1963 where they loved and raised their large family. George and Maria were married for 59 years and had 14 children, 45 grandchildren, 103 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Maria loved her big family, and always had time for visits with anyone who stopped by. She also had time to sew and made beautiful quilts, which are the most treasured gifts for many in the family. She was a great cook, making tortillas daily with all of the tasty fillings. In her later years she loved to make trips to Jackpot to try her luck at the slots. She was also an avid bingo player. Our Mother was the heart of our family and we will always keep her in ours. She will be truly missed by many.
Maria was proceeded in death by her husband George, 4 children; Jose, Josefina, Artemio, and Rolando, 5 grand-children; Maria Olivia, Elsa, Mathew, Jesse and Rojelio, and great grandson, JD. She is survived by Olivia Hernandez (Art Lopez) Jerome ID, Rebecca Moreno (Modesto) of Beeville TX, Balvina Rodriguez (Fred) of Twin Falls ID, Ricardo Galvan of Las Vegas NV, Reynaldo Galvan(Delia) of Twin Falls ID, George Galvan(Ellen) of Salmon ID, Luisa Sorensen(Milton) of Gooding ID, Teresa Galvan (Jim Hall) of Rancho Santa Margarita CA, David Galvan (Penny) Twin Falls ID, and Belinda Mendoza of Ogden UT along with her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Our Family would like to Thank Twin Fall Care Center , Dr Fortuin (Dr. Fortuni as Maria called him), and the hospice nurses for the all the time and gentle care given. Thanks to the many friends who stopped to Maria in her final days. Despite her pain and discomfort, hugs and smiles were given to everyone and she appreciated your visits.

I am saddened to see this here. I am sad my family did not contact me and allow me to pay my last respects. My grandma was my only connection to the Galvan family. I will miss her very very much. You truly are an ANGEL XXOOXXOO

Rosa, Your grandmother was a beautiful looking lady and it showed through in how long she lived. Not everyone is blessed enough to live to 105 years old. God Bless you, your family and your extended family.
