Age: 56 years old
Kimberly- A. Susan Beem Burningham, 56, passed away Saturday September 14, 2013, at her home with her family by her side, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Susan was born November 4, 1956, at Orlando Air Force Base in Orlando, Florida, to Ken and Donna Beem. Soon after, the family moved to Idaho where Susan enjoyed her life growing up on the family farm in Hunt. She attended school in Eden/Hazelton and graduated from Valley High School in 1975, where she returned years later to serve two terms on the VHS school board.
In March 1975, Susan married Rocky Hagan. To that union came Craig and Holly. Susan's two kids meant the world to her. She was always there to support them and was a wonderful mom and friend. Although Rocky and Susan later divorced, they remained friends.
Susan married Todd Burningham in November of 2004. They considered each to be their soul mate. They were very much in love and spent every minute they could together. They took their vows "in sickness and in health" to heart and saw each other through many difficult times. Susan's pride and joy were her four beautiful granddaughters; Madison, Brynley, Baylee and Elsie. She was an amazing "Grammy!" She loved planning activities and projects to do with her grandkids. Her best moments were those spent with her "little girls."
Susan was very creative her whole life. She enjoyed quilting and found it to be healing as she battled her illness. She made many beautiful quilts that will be cherished always.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, Todd; her two kids, Craig (Jentry) Hagan and Holly (Michael) Bland; her four granddaughters, Baylee, Elsie, Madison and Brynley; her parents, Ken and Donna Beem; her brother, Steve; her special cousin, Kip Andrus; and many extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Virgil and Katie Beem, Lloyd and Iva West; and her granddaughter, Hunter Trinity Hagan.
Susan's family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Dr. Symington and Dr. Smith and the staff at MSTI, for their kind care.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Mountain States Tumor Institute.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday September 21, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was a member, 2055 Filer Avenue East, Twin Falls, with Pastor Roger Sedlmayr, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
