Burley, Idaho - Linda Ilene Bloxham, 69, of Burley, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2014, at the Countryside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Rupert after a long battle with seizure complications.

Linda was born on April 25, 1945, to Carl P. and Elaine Nielson in Logan, Utah. She grew up in Preston, Idaho, and graduated from Preston High School in 1963. She was active in music and accompanied many musicals and operettas with her piano skills. She attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah, and upon graduation moved to Pocatello where she worked in the transcript department at Idaho State University. She later served as executive secretary for the Dean of Students. It was at Idaho State where she met her husband, Scott Bloxham. They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Dec. 16, 1966.

After a year at ISU, they transferred to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where Scott graduated in 1970. They then moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where Scott attended the University of Southern California and graduated with a degree in physical therapy. She and Scott moved to the Burley/Rupert area where she resided until her death.

Linda was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings including, Relief Society teacher, Primary counselor, Laurel advisor, and many organist positions. She loved to read and play the piano until blindness ended these pursuits.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Scott Bloxham; three wonderful children, Daren (Julie) Bloxham of American Fork, Utah, Ryan (Melissa) Bloxham of Charlotte, N.C., and Julene (Cade) Clark of Leesburg, Va. Scott and Linda were blessed to have 13 very special grandchildren. She loved and cherished her grandchildren and loved to have them visit. Pictures were always close to her bed. She has one brother, Jay Nielson of Farmington, Utah; and one sister, Joan Phillips of Preston, Idaho.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the Burley LDS 3rd and 7th Ward Church, 2200 Oakley Ave., with Bishop David Hansen officiating. Burial will follow at Gem Memorial Gardens in Burley.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
