Clell Jacobson was born June 14, 1928 in Hagerman, ID to Lars Albert Jacobson and Violet Rider Jacobson. He passed away in his sleep Sunday, March 14, 2010 after a gallant battle with cancer and Parkinson’s Disease.

Clell grew up in the Hagerman/Wendell area where he also attended school. He attended Wendell High school where he lettered in boxing, winning the title of Golden Glove at State. The Wendell area is also where he met Mabel Spencer, his bride of 64 years. They were married November 3, 1945 and set up house NW of Wendell where they farmed 60 acres for his parents. In 1953 they moved to their current location in the West Point area where they had a dairy farm and raised their 5 children. Clell started working for the North Side Canal Company in the spring of 1954 and continued to do so in addition to the dairy farm for the next 47 years. Clell and Mabel spent their retirement years traveling throughout the United States including visits to their family homesteads in MO, OK and KS.

They greatly enjoyed their family, often traveling all over to attend sports, church events and a myriad of other activities for the grand and great grand children. Summertime was a favorite for Clell as the grandkids fought over who got to go ditch riding with grandpa knowing that the morning would end up at the store with candy for all.

Clell is survived by: his wife, Mabel Jacobson; two sisters, Kathleen Burnie of Nampa, Jean Mohwinkle of Wendell; four children, Dennis (Sherrie) Jacobson of Blackfoot, Evelyn (Alan) Herbst of Blackfoot, Doug (LeAnn) Jacobson of Wendell, Randy (Stephanie) Jacobson of Twin Falls and daughter-in-law Connie Jacobson of Gooding. Clell and Mabel had 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Loris and Lee Jacobson; one sister, Betty Eckles; one son, Gary Clell Jacobson; and two great grandchildren, Hailey Cottrel and Torrin Beehler.

Clell was greatly loved and admired by his family and friends and his presence will be greatly missed.

The funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Wendell L.D.S. Church in Wendell. Burial will follow in the Wendell Cemetery.

Family members and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Demaray Funeral Service – Wendell Chapel.
