1A-2A State Golf Wraps Up With MV Athletes Taking Top Individual Honors

The 1A-2A State Golf Tournament crowned their champions this afternoon, and both medalists were from the Magic Valley.

For the boys, MV Christian's Zach DeKruyf picked up his second straight State Champion title, shooting a low 148 over the two-day event. Oakley's Travis Robinson was the only other Magic Valley athlete to close out in the top ten, finishing in seventh at 164.

In team standings, Soda Springs (621) took the 71-stroke victory over Nampa Christian (692), placing five of the top ten individuals, including three of the top four. MV Christian (740) finished in fourth, while Valley (760) finished in fifth.

For the girls, Wendell's Jaci Lancaster repeated as the State Champion, as well, tallying a two-day total of 165. MV Christian's Michelle Kootstra finished in second at 187. Valley's Kelsey Richins finished in fourth at 198. MVC Conqueror Kristina Reitsma finished in eighth and Lighthouse Christian's Tara Paulson finished in tenth.

In tema standings, Orofino (860) took the overall victory, six strokes ahead of second-place Wendell (866). MV Christian finished in third at 879.
