UCF: Retribution - Part II

Lee Anderson brought his octagon of pain to the Magic Valley and the Radio Rondevoo for a special edition of Thursday night fights.

A number of fights filled the undercard, with the headline fight between Ben Ferrin and Ricky Reyes for the light heavyweight championship. Ferrin and Reyes battled back and forth in the first round. In the second, Reyes spotted and opening and shot for a takedown, but Ferrin somehow managed to stay on top, working Reyes into a rear naked choke for the submission, and to keep the title in his hands.

On the undercard, Jason Stafford and Eric Dixon battled in one of the most aggressive fights of the night. The two traded blows with no man taking clear advantage until the third round. In the third, the two went to the ground, and Stafford wasted no time claiming Dixon's back and locking him in to a rear naked choke as well. Stafford picked up the submission victory at 1:05 of the third round.

In the heavyweights, local favorite Curtis Yergensen faced off with Casey Pearson. Pearson far outweighed the more agile Yergensen by nearly fifty pounds, but it made no difference. Yergensen found an opening and took over in full guard mount. Once he had position, Yerg rained down the bombs, forcing Pearson to tap out late in the first round.

Anderson will bring his octagon back to Radio Rondevoo on August 9 for another UCF event at 7 PM.

In other UCF news, Superstar Lee Anderson is stepping out of his weight class in an exhibition fight on July 26 at Qwest Arena in Boise. Anderson is slated to take on WWE grappler King Kong Bundy. Bundy weighs in at a whopping 470 pounds and stands 6'4". Anderson got a waiver on the weight difference to get the fight sanctioned, as the champion can't find a challenger to his title belt. Anderson hasn't been in a fight in nearly a year, but feels that he will be ready for the "big" challenge of Bundy. Tickets for the fight are available from Lee Anderson, as well as Ticketmaster locations for the Qwest Arena.
